Looking to try something new in 2024 or have a goal to enrich your mind? The Gloversville Public Library is constantly hosting workshops and classes throughout the year for children, teens, and adults. In addition to learning a new skill, the library also has classes dedicated to mindful well-being. Below is the schedule for January and February but contact the library for details, reservations, and more information.

·       “Joy of Coloring” for adults on Jan. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

·       “Gentle Yoga Essentials” for adults on Jan. 5 and 19, and Feb. 2 and 16, at10:30 a.m. Registration is required.

·       “Easy Eats Club” on Jan. 10 at 5:30 p.m. for ages 18 and above. Registration required.

·       “Do-It-Yourself Crafternoons” on Jan. 10 and Feb. 14 at 3:30 p.m. for ages 8 to 12.

·       “Creative Crafters” on Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. for ages 5 and above.

·       “Anime Afternoons” on Jan. 17 and Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. for ages 10 and above.

·       “Write-On!” On Jan. 19 and Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. for adults and teens ages 13 and above.

·       “The Creative Zone” on Jan. 23 and Feb. 27 at The Loft at 3:30 p.m. for grades 6 to 12.

·       “Adult Crafting” on Jan. 24 and Feb. 28 at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. Registration is required.

·     “Super Chefs” on Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. for ages 6 to 11. Registration is required.

·     “Art Cart Hour” on Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. for ages 12 to 17.

·       “Teen Trivia” on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. for ages 12 to 17.


Starting a new business or expanding your small business is on your Resolution list? Fulton County Center for Regional Growth, based in Downtown Gloversville, will be offering the next round of Microenterprise Grant Training in January. The four classes are held Jan. 8, 16, 22 and 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. and topics include business basics, marketing and advertising, business accounting, and developing a business plan. Classes are on Zoom and the course is $100. Upon completing the four classes, participants are eligible to apply for grants up to $25,000. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 4. Resolving to release your inner artist? 44 Lakes Customized Gifts & Décor, 15 N. Main St., is hosting several craft workshops: Create pinecone animals on Jan. 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Jan. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and a Ceramic Gnome class will be held on Jan. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Jan. 13 r4om 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a fee. Matti Bright Studios is hosting a “Brushes + Bob – Neurographic Art” class on Jan. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the studio located at 11 Church St. The event includes diving into a world of color, swirls, and funky lines on talking big, bold 11x17 watercolor paper while sipping on boba tea. There is a fee and tickets are available through Eventbrite and by clicking here.
