The air is crisp, pumpkins are glowing, and Gloversville is alive with Halloween fun! Whether you’re in the mood for family-friendly crafts, spine-tingling shows, or costume parties that keep the night alive, downtown has something for everyone this October.

The season begins with a mix of creativity and spooky theatrics.

On October 17, the Scitamard Drama Club at Gloversville High School presents “When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors,” a student performance full of humor and mischief, followed by encore shows on October 18. That same evening, The Glove Theatre hosts its Trivia Night Fundraiser with the Fulton County Regional SPCA — a brain-busting night of fun supporting a pawsome cause.

Also on October 17, families can head to Memorial Hall Cultural & Arts Center for its Spooky Open House, where kids can design their own haunted houses or learn to draw Frankenstein’s monster. Lessons begin throughout the afternoon, and there will be treats while supplies last!

The frightful fun continues on October 18 at Kingsboro Golf Club, where horror fans can test their movie knowledge during Horror Movie Trivia Night starting at 6 p.m. Grab your friends, dress up if you dare, and see who reigns supreme as the ultimate horror buff!

As the month unfolds, the Halloween excitement only grows. On October 22, the Gloversville Public Library hosts a crafty afternoon with its Adult Skull Geode Workshop, where participants can turn simple plastic skulls into dazzling geode centerpieces — perfect spooky décor for the season.

Then, as Halloween weekend approaches, the energy at The Glove Theatre really comes alive. On October 24, Medium T. Brandon Russ returns to The Glove as your “guide to the other side.” This fascinating evening offers guests a chance to connect spiritually and embrace the mystical side of the season.

The following night, October 25, The Glove invites audiences to a Wicked Sing-Along Version — a free, family-friendly event where costumes and makeup are encouraged, and the best-dressed guests will win cash prizes. That same night, Aaron’s Irish Pub amps up the energy with its Haunted Heavy Metal Halloween Party, featuring live bands, a costume contest, and free candy. Over at Kingsboro Golf Club, adults can enjoy a 21+ Halloween Party and Costume Contest filled with eerie fun and great company.

Finally, Halloween night in Gloversville offers a mix of tradition and music. Citywide trick-or-treating runs from 6–8 p.m. on October 31, while Off the Rails Tavern hosts a Halloween Bash featuring costume prizes, food, and drink specials. To end the night on a high note, The Glove Theatre presents The Wheel – HalloWheel’n, a special Grateful Dead Halloween concert promising plenty of dancing and Halloween magic.
